A freezing cold day. I must get moving with something to warm me up so....so......cold. Maybe i will start cleaning out my work room ready for some serious winter sewing. I need to start making things for the store, so to have it all organized is the plan. Here are just a few photos of the house and garden. A close up shot of my spice drawers and large rolling pins. One is an original from the Beaconsfield Bakery. The sideboard in the lounge is Scotish so i have been told ;at the moment i use it for all my magazines. The photo is of my father in law when he was a baby.

The new Cote Est range which is a great basic set that is sold individually or as a set . The jugs are a nice gift just on their own . The rattan placemats from Villa Maison are also very good for dinner parties when you want a platter for cheese and biscuits and maybe a bunch of grapes. The table is a Stewart Alps design.

A photo of the shop at Christmas time. The mirrors are an on going in store item that we make. The urns are cast iron and are available most of the time.

We offer both reproduction and antique furniture. Some of the smaller items are also vintage, but they tend not to last very long. We have some vintage rattan baskets coming in soon in all different shapes and sizes; great for storage. I will post some pictures when they arrive.

I love mixing vegetables like artichokes in amongst other flowering perenials, (they used to do that a lot in the victorian era). We are currently working on the bush area of the garden, cleaning up all the undergrowth and resowing seed so grass will hopefully grow. We have also put in a huge lake which is already holding a considerable amount of water from the last big rain we had. Water is going to be a huge problem in the future, so we thought it would be a good water source for us in the future for our garden. We are constructing a pontoon over the lake which we may construct a pizza oven. Well these are the plans, always planning. Off to work soon so i will have to sign out and maybe a may post you some photos of our new products in store. See you then.

Some bits and pieces from my store.

Guess who, another beautiful person in my life, my 18 year old daughter Chloe who is the absolute joy of my life.

A teddy i made out of my old dressing gown. I painted it after with a brown wash paint to give it the effect. They eyes are old military buttons. Love making them, but once again i tend to be a bit time poor lately.

These are just a few of my loves for you to look at. Linen i have always adored, rolling pins i have a real thing for there shapes and how none of them are ever the same, old crackled paintings are beautiful, leather suitcases you wonder where they have travelled and cupids are so gorgeous.

Someone in the store asked me today what blogging was and it wasn't until i got home today that i realised that it was a little a bit like doing a scrap book. Mum and i would spend hours cutting pretty pictures out and placing them on the pages . I would do this for hours on end and never seem to tire from it.

Some afternoon shots of the garden when i came home from work. I love to see the change of light and the difference it can make to your photos. Thanks today to someone special who rang me to tell me how much she has been enjoying my blog. It was so kind to take the time out and it makes me feel like doing more.

Early morning mist coming up through the valley at home. Just a few photos to share. I love autumn for its simplicity and structure. It was so crisp and still ,with the birds cheeping, the fog only took minutes to lift.

This will be my only post today. I have been busy in the garden and doing other bits and pieces. I would like to share this great book i have discovered called the Velvet Pears by Susan Southam. Its full of fantastic illustrations and an interesting story about how she discovered herself living in a cottage that she had admired for a long time. I wont tell you too much in case you would like to read it for yourself. A few shots of the bedroom. The linen is available through my store and is a product from Villa Maison. The cushion is from a friends left overs from their curtains.

Our new little delight, Massie. We love her to bits such a character, caught her looking out of the front rooms window; she loves loves being outside, and believe it or not rounds up sheep. It is the funniest thing you have ever seen. She is as cute as she looks in this photo

Not the best photo, but this is my latest restoration job. I bought the Louis carver at Auction; it was covered in smelly tapestry which i will wash a re-use and make into maybe a big carry bag with Belgium linen. I recovered the back with linen and vintage studs which i had and then stenciled Paris on the back.....i love this look.....you see it heaps in recent mags. Tell me what you think?

This is a similar tapestry which i also washed and had framed in a rustic gold guilt frame. Lots of work and i must say i like the muted colours that they used to use. I will show you my bag when i finish it . Maybe a while always too many ideas in my head and not enough time.
