Come inside and have a look around....

Getting closer and closer. I have decided that people this year are so un enthused about Christmas because there is so much pressure on people....teachers have to finalize everything they have done throughout the year and write reports; builders are so under the pump to get things finished for clients, retailers well who knows, florists have heaps of weddings and flowers being ordered for Christmas functions and last but certainly not least parents have all the running around juggling and end of year things to go to. Stop, yes lets all just stop now and think......what are we doing to ourselves....what is Christmas really about? We all get bogged down in the expectations of what we think we need to be giving people, family and friends when really the answer is quite simple......its time. We need to all take a deep breath and just slow right down and eliminate this chaos out of Christmas. Take time out to get back to the basics...like cooking a cake for someone down the road....going over to your mates and saying lets have a beer and most importantly spending time with our children. Sometimes i am guilty of all these things; trying to juggle a business on my own, run a house hold and spend time with my family. And yes we all get on that merry go round and don't know how to get off. But please at Christmas lets try to spend time with family, friends and remember its not all about presents it way more than that.
Some comfy cushions to lounge around on over the Christmas break.

Spend some time in the garden over Christmas with the family....get them into how to grow things. Our veggies are going well and we will be picking all over the Christmas break.

Happy family time and please all take it easy.....

I wish I lived in Tasmania so I could visit your store in person....so beautiful!! You are so talented!

And you are right about remembering through all the hectic craziness of the holiday season that we need to remember what Christmas is really about. :)

I am so with you on this. People get so crazy at the Holidays, worrying about silly things instead of concentrating on just being thankful for the joy they have in their lives. People actually get ruder at this time of the year, when really we should be more giving and kind to one another.
It makes me so sad that it seems the true meaning of Christmas has been lost.
Wonderful post!
I hope you have a lovely holiday season and your store is just lovely!!
Sincerely,
melinda

i agree with your sentiments expressed about christmas! it is the true meaning of the season that should be upper most in people's minds and being kind and considerate. however your shop looks as if it is brimming with things of beauty, somewhere to buy a real treat! happy days!

Hear, hear Amanda! We have paired it back this year to a more simple tune and it is SO much better. We are teaching the boys what the Christmas season is actually about and why we give gifts. We have even paired back the amount of gifts we are giving which has made it so much eaiser to buy for our family. More thoughtful gifts and from the heart.
I for one am looking forward to Christmas this year and am sad to see others dreading it.

I think it would be so relaxing and enjoyable to just walk in your beautiful shop and browse around. I think I could get most of my Christmas shopping done right here and then just have more time for my family :)

Would love to shop there.

I was in wow over your wire Christmas trees. I too created a Wire tress out of a tomato cage and wire... it would fit right in with yours.

Love everything you do!

have a great holiday
