Kitchens and Bathrooms....

These are the two most important rooms in the house; its where you spend a fare bit of your time. I thought i would post some file shots that i think display beautiful examples of wholesome kitchens and bathrooms.

Don't worry the neighbours don't mind at all......
I don't think it is always about having the latest appliances or fittings for these rooms sometimes i think its simply creating a feel.

Lovely Easter goodies....

For the last couple of days i have been madly unpacking boxes and more boxes. We have some great new items that would make a lovely Easter gift for that special someone in your life. Around this time of year i find many of us start getting ready for a long winter by considering what improvements or changes can be made around the home. Winter we spend a lot of time indoors so a pleasant environment makes for a more comfortable and relaxing time over the colder months. Some lovely vintage canvas floor cushions with a great book to read (photo above ), would make a lovely addition to any lounge or living area.
Gorgeous thick glass cloches.....
Handy cast iron string dispensers with their own scissors....
Beautiful mirror and garden pieces......
Beautiful recycled timber display drawers.....Everyone have a great Easter. The store will be open the Saturday of Easter and re-opening again on the Tuesday. Oh by the way we now officially have a lovely new helper called Amelia. A fresh face who i know will help you all when you visit the store.

Dreaming of France.

This year is the year. We are finally going on a trip of a life time, 5 weeks in France and Belgium. We had good intentions in heading off last year , just too busy and too much going on. However this year its a definite, and i am so so excited. I have not been out of the country since i was 21 years of age, and my husband hasn't been at all. So look out here we come. Today we are booking our flights and finalizing other details.
We will hire a little car and just drive. We are only stationing ourselves in about 4 regions and just soaking up the areas ; no rushing from one tourist destination to another.

We hope to explore the many french flea markets and visit many Antique shops.....maybe even find a treasure or two.
Another priority is to experience the cuisine and wine....another of our passions...

Simple tones, great texture....

These photos are a great example of simple colours with great textural contrast. The above photos displays a simple industrial feel without leaving you feeling cold. The use of rust brown tones in leather and metal help soften the coolness from the white concrete and white wash walls.

This photos with the layering of creams and off whites with the rattan to soften helps to give this bedroom some warmth.

The above two photos have been balanced with some greenery which also freshens the whole look.

A Rosie kind of day.....

The weather in Tasmania has been shocking; cold wet and windy.....yuck. So i decided to put up some fresh , beautiful shots from Cabbages and Roses. The fabrics are so beautiful and subtle with a touch of femininity.

Draw string bags which display the range from Cabbages and Roses.
Can you believe these beautiful roses.

Up with the roosters this morning.....

We have just changed over from day light savings; so now our evenings are shorter. This morning i was up with the rooster crowing feeling like i had had a huge sleep in. Great for getting going and being productive. Out with the camera as the light was gorgeous, just like a lot of our early Autumn mornings. Crisp and still. The above photo was taken from over near our new dam, looking across towards the house.
I think i beat them out of bed....that would be a first.
Some Autumn colour.....
Looking towards the barn.
I love Autumn for its muted tones and textures. Some people find it dull....i find it beautiful. Today i spent a lot of time painting furniture for the shop. I Will show you shots once they are in store.
